how does the method work?
The Guided Future Thinking Method is based on the "Miracle Question".
The "Miracle Question" is a solution-focused tool that helps visualize a future without current problems, fostering hope & clarity. By describing detailed changes post-miracle, you or the person you are talking to can identify actionable steps towards desired outcomes.
This technique encourages a shift from problem-thinking to goal-oriented solutions.
Step by Step Guide
There are a few details you want to keep in mind and prepare before and while practicing this method
Care for yourself as a moderator, so that you are in a good, calm mood.
Have the text read a few times, so that you are familiar with it.
The pauses can be experienced as awkwardly long as moderator, especially as many listeners won’t show immediate reaction which is right so, they are busy thinking.
Allow them the time to think and count until 10 in your head.
If you are doing this the first time, we highly recommend to train 1-2 dry-runs before. Either you test with a small team or you record yourself and test your speech by listening to it afterwards.
