Metaphors also make information easier to pass on to others, often bypassing the conscious, critical faculties. Anne Millar calls them, “Weapons of mass understanding” as they are central to our unconscious thinking processes.
LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) is a business communication tool which taps in to the power of metaphors. Participants are encouraged to build models using LEGO® bricks to represent their thoughts, concepts, and ideas. These models serve as metaphors for their thinking and provide a tangible form for abstract concepts. LSP enables them to go beyond the limitations of verbal communication and provides a visual and tactile medium for expressing ideas, emotions, and experiences. Metaphors facilitate a deeper level of engagement and help participants uncover new insights, challenge assumptions, and explore alternative perspectives in a collaborative and interactive setting.LSP is an open source tool – you can find out more about how it works under the link provided.
